In her 15+ year career in search and in-house recruiting, Valerie Glover-Powers has established herself as a standout in the depth and breadth of knowledge she holds of the support side of the business. She learned the industry from the ground up, working within both large and boutique Executive Search firms, as well as a major global Internet company.
Valerie began her career in search at Heidrick & Struggles, one of the largest Executive Search firms in the world. She came to Heidrick in the capacity of Executive Assistant – a position long considered the hub of the search wheel. Here she honed her search skill set while developing knowledge and procedures on how to make the search process as efficient and effective as possible. In her work, Valerie has been consistently considered the go-to person in the office. Her strength is in her ability to problem solve and to apply those solutions.
Later, Valerie joined Yahoo! as a Talent Acquisition Coordinator, responsible for all executive level searches. Working at Yahoo! provided Valerie the opportunity to intimately understand the search process from the client’s point of view. Subsequently, she joined Terra Search Partners, a boutique Executive Search firm that specializes in assisting companies in the real estate industry build successful executive teams. At Terra Search Partners, she worked closely with the Partners, Principals and clients, handling all of the administrative aspects necessary for filling high-level executive positions.
